"Rama" my first chair, a fusion of form and function. In Spanish, "rama" translates to "branch," embodying the essence of the design. Its aim is to weave the elegance of branching elements into a comfortable and functional chair, all brought to life through the precision of CNC technology allowing the creation of two linear shapes that repeat alternating eachother to create the pattern that makes “Rama”. Infusing the spirit of branches, this chair symbolizes the exploration of nature's aesthetics and its seamless integration into our everyday spaces, encapsulating commitment to craftsmanship and the beauty of the natural world, resulting in a distinctive piece with endless directions of growth.
As I ventured into 1/6 chair prototyping, I marveled at the process of crafting intricate scaled-down models. It's an immersive way to refine proportions, test comfort, and fine-tune the chair's visual allure, all while getting a tangible feel for the final product. This hands-on approach has deepened my appreciation for the nuances of design iteration and its pivotal role in creating a chair.
