Combining your work area with your relaxation zone can significantly challenge achieving work-life balance, especially when working from home and sharing your space for work with your space for rest. Because work can be emotionally draining, there is a lack of boundaries, and work-related items are always visible. This project introduces two objects designed to ease the mental shift from work to hygge (the Danish concept of coziness and comfort). Drawing inspiration from everyday signals that mark transitions, like opening and closing a laptop or curtains, these objects create a tangible shift in space. The desk effortlessly transforms from a dining table to a functional workspace, while the lamp transitions from a bright, white light to a warm, cozy glow.

This project caters to individuals who work from home, typically in their mid-20s to 30s, residing in small apartments where their workspace and relaxation area overlap.

My project is aimed at those who prioritize emotional equilibrium alongside achieving a healthy work-life balance. They cherish tranquil evenings, relishing the comfort of their home while disconnecting from the demands of their daily activities.
